About Dramatherapy
First, it's important to understand that a dramatherapy workshop is not an acting class. The goal is not to teach you how to become an actor. There are no lines to memorize, and no concept of performance. This is precisely what makes dramatherapy align with the saying by Philippe Pollet-Villard:
“It’s not the destination that matters, but the journey that takes us there.
And especially the detours.”
Through various games inspired by theater and movement, the aim is to help you reconnect your body and mind, listen to your inner self, and express through your body—and through a character—what cannot be put into words. This is a process of self-exploration, carried out in a playful, discovery-oriented space.
In addition to these explorations, the workshop always includes moments where each participant can share with the group their experiences and reflections on the journey they’ve just undertaken.
The advantages of Dramatherapy
Develop imagination and creativity
No artistic background is required.
Imagination and sensitivity are innate qualities we all possess, and they are the first steps toward creativity.
This is why the artist within us all is waiting to be expressed.
Create links with others
And improve interpersonal relationships.
It is through mutual support within the group that creativity truly flourishes, ultimately enhancing interpersonal relationships.
Discover new skills
Or perhaps I should say, "skills that have always been within you, just waiting for the chance to be discovered."
It’s also a wonderful opportunity to step out of your comfort zone while feeling safe—and to surprise yourself in the process!
